Served as an external reviewer for the Biomedical Sciences graduate programs at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Members of the committee met with the Associate Dean, the Graduate Program Director, department chairs, faculty, and graduate students, to help in creating an evolving, more clinically integrated curriculum for School of Medicine students, based upon the needs of students, patients, health systems and partners, and upon educational and clinical best practices.

11/2015 – Present

Member of the ILAE/AES Translational Research Task Force. Because discoveries made in animal studies often fail to translate into clinically relevant therapies, the ILAE/AES Translational Research Task Force is working to optimize epilepsy research and lead to new treatments for people with epilepsies. As part of an initiative to systematically review the animal data for their relevance to particular clinical syndromes and comorbidities and critically evaluate their predictive value for treatment response or biomarker development, I drafted this paper for the peer-reviewed journal Epilepsia.
